The snow emergency is in effect until 6:00 am, Monday, January 15. There is NO parking allowed on main streets from 10:00 pm until 6:00 am. Alternate side parking will be required on streets from 10:00 pm until 6:00 am, to help clear parking lanes. Please pay attention to winter parking signs!

Here are a few safety tips from the Milwaukee Police Department:

  • Stay CLEAR of down power lines.
  • Limit your travel on roadways and sidewalks.
  • Do NOT heat your homes with gas stoves if your power is out.
  • If you are seeking shelter elsewhere, shut off water at your water meter. This will prevent damage in your home. Report water main breaks to Milwaukee Water Works, 414-286-3710.
  • To prevent carbon monoxide, clear snow from around your exterior gas meters and any vents from the inside to the outside of your home.
  • Clear snow from fire hydrants.
  • If you see a tree down or branches in the right of way, please call 414-286-CITY (2489).
