The Milwaukee Water Commons launched the Branch Out Milwaukee initiative with the help of a Sustain Our Great Lakes grant. The goal is to improve Milwaukee’s urban tree canopy, water quality and air quality, while reducing the severity of urban heat islands. During the pilot portion of this initiative, Milwaukee Water Commons is offering Sherman Park community residents a free tree inventory, up to three free trees, and assistance with tree maintenance costs, depending on household income.
