Greening Congregations Initiative - Sherman Park Community Assocation

The Greening Congregations Initiative has created a streamlined pathway for faith-based organizations and small commercial properties in the Sherman Park, Lindsay Heights and Harambee neighborhoods to pursue decarbonization and green infrastructure projects. Decarbonization for this project involves reducing greenhouse gas emissions produced by heating, cooling and powering buildings and vehicles, while green infrastructure aims to manage stormwater. This innovative project will benefit participants by reducing energy burdens and utility costs, creating local jobs, improving public health, and mitigating the overall effects of climate change in our environment.
