Chicago non-profit Friedman Place runs a Rent Assistance Program that supports Illinois and Wisconsin residents who are blind and have low incomes. It provides rent subsidies of up to $300 each month, to help qualified individuals stay in their own homes. Eligibility is based on being legally or totally blind, having a low income, and meeting a few basic renting requirements.
