Milwaukee Habitat For Humanity is now offering free lead abatement services for homeowners in the Sherman Park area. Homes built before 1978 it may contain lead paint, and homes built before 1950 usually have the highest concentrations of the dangerous material. Repairing and remodeling painted surfaces in those homes can be hazardous to children. If you own and live in a home built before 1978, you may qualify for this program.
