Shakespeare in the Park returns to Sherman Park on Sunday, July 19, for another afternoon of Bard-powered entertainment. This year’s free traveling show, entitled “Shakespeare. Expect the Unexpected,” will again bring two plays to our community, along with renaissance games, pre-show programs, a live concert from Early Music Now, and a gaggle of puppets. Here’s what’s on the bill:
Richard III
Puppet-Powered Murderous Mayhem
In a puppet-powered world, ambition turns deadly. Richard III, where ruthless schemes unfold with animal flair. (50 mins)
The Merry Wives of Windsor
Comic Comeuppance. Falstaff Foiled.
Falstaff’s schemes backfire as Mistresses Page, Ford, and Quickly outwit him at every turn, with mischief and live music by Early Music Now. (40 mins)
