Proposed NID Community Meeting

Loading Events

Join your neighbors for an important meeting to learn about a Neighborhood Improvement District (NID) that is being proposed for Sherman Park. It would create a home repair grant that would be available to owner occupied properties. The district covers a large, “L” shaped section of the community:

  • Capitol Drive on the north to Burleigh Street on the south, and 30th Street on the east to 60th Street on the west
  • Burleigh Street on the north to North Avenue on the south, and 51st Street on the east to 60th Street on the west

Sherman Park already has an active NID (NID #4) that has been operating successfully since 2014, with over $1.6 million invested in the community and over 350 homes served. The proposed NID is designed serve the rest of the Sherman Park community (which is why it is “L” shaped).

The City of Milwaukee will ultimately decide if a NID is created, so resident support is crucial. Please bring a neighbor with you to the meeting, and share this information and flyer with others.

(This will be the first meeting of many, so if you cannot attend, there will be other opportunities to get information.)
