Smoke alarms save lives. That’s why the local chapter of the American Red Cross is holding a home fire prevention campaign called “Sound the Alarm.” On Saturday, May 30, they’ll be in the Sherman Park community, installing free smoke alarms in homes and providing fire safety plans. Residents just need to request a smoke alarm installation to take advantage of this offer.

The Red Cross is also seeking volunteers to help on May 30. Working smoke alarms can cut the risk of death from home fires in half. That’s why they’re rallying volunteers, fire departments and partners to “Sound the Alarm” in the community.
