The 2023 NID application period has begun! Owner occupants of homes in the designated Sherman Park Neighborhood Improvement District #4 (NID) area are eligible for up to $5,000 in home improvement grant assistance.

The Sherman Park Community Association, Inc. (SPCA) administers the grants for the Neighborhood Improvement District #4. The neighborhood improvement district is governed by a board of directors made up of Sherman Park residents. The NID #4 provides modest grants (e.g. $500 – $5,000 each) to owner occupants of single family homes and duplexes in the NID #4 Area of Sherman Park (a map of the designated NID #4 area is on page 6 of the application), to make the following improvements to their properties:

  • Structural repairs such as roof, porch, windows, exterior doors, masonry (foundation, tuck pointing), painting
  • Mechanical systems such as electrical system upgrades or wiring repairs, plumbing repairs, furnace or boiler replacement, HVAC repairs, insulation
  • Code compliance repairs necessary to remedy an existing code violation(s).
